Jena-Rose Commander, LAC, NCC
Supervised by Alicia Day, LPC, ACS
I help young adults and women who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, burnout, motherhood, life transitions, or the constant pressure of holding everything together reconnect with themselves, feel more emotionally grounded, and create a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.
Many of the clients I work with are used to being the dependable one—the person who keeps functioning, keeps caring for others, and keeps pushing through, even while feeling emotionally exhausted underneath it all. Some struggle with anxiety that never fully quiets down. Others feel disconnected from themselves, overwhelmed by responsibilities, or unsure how to balance work, relationships, family, and their own emotional needs without burning out.
I also specialize in women’s mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum experiences, infertility, and pregnancy loss. These experiences can deeply affect identity, relationships, confidence, and emotional well-being, often in ways that feel difficult to explain to others. Therapy can provide space to process these experiences honestly, without judgment or pressure to “hold it all together.”
I provide telehealth therapy throughout New Jersey, including evening appointments for clients balancing busy daytime schedules.

My Approach
I take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapy that is both compassionate and practical. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel emotionally safe enough to slow down, reflect honestly on your experiences, and begin responding to yourself with more understanding and care.
My work integrates evidence-based approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Mindfulness-based practices
Trauma-informed care
Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, strengthening coping skills, improving self-esteem, and developing tools that feel realistic and sustainable in your everyday life—not just inside the therapy room.
What It’s Like Working with Me
My style is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth. I strive to create a space where you can exhale a little—where you do not have to perform, have everything figured out, or carry things alone.
Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. Some sessions may focus on processing emotions and difficult experiences, while others may center on practical coping tools, emotional regulation, stress management, or learning how to better care for yourself during demanding seasons of life.
Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My goal is to help you feel more emotionally steady, self-aware, and equipped to navigate life with greater confidence and self-trust.
