Ashlyn Rost, LPC, ACS
I help teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, emotional stress, life transitions, or postpartum challenges feel more grounded, emotionally supported, and confident in navigating life without losing themselves in the process.
Many of the clients I work with appear to be managing on the outside while internally feeling emotionally exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of who they are beneath the pressure of everyday responsibilities and expectations. Some teens are struggling with the emotional intensity of growing up—academic pressure, social stress, identity changes, or difficulty managing overwhelming emotions. Many adults, especially women and mothers, come to therapy feeling depleted from constantly caring for others while quietly carrying anxiety, burnout, or postpartum emotional struggles on their own.
I also have a strong focus on supporting women through postpartum mood and identity changes. The transition into motherhood can bring anxiety, sadness, guilt, overstimulation, or a sense of losing connection with yourself in ways that are difficult to explain to others. Therapy can provide a space where you no longer have to hold all of that alone.
I provide telehealth therapy throughout New Jersey for teens and adults seeking a warm, supportive, and genuine therapeutic relationship grounded in emotional safety, self-understanding, and meaningful growth.

My Approach
I take a person-centered approach to therapy grounded in empathy, unconditional acceptance, and authentic connection.
My work integrates:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness-based strategies
Person-Centered Therapy
Strengths-based support
I help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and navigate difficult transitions more effectively.
At the center of my work is the belief that therapy should feel human, supportive, and tailored to who you are—not just focused on symptoms alone.
What It’s Like to Work with Me
My style is warm, genuine, and supportive. I strive to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
Therapy with me is collaborative and relational. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel emotionally safe enough to be honest about what they are carrying while also feeling supported in building practical tools for daily life.
Some sessions may focus on processing emotions, stress, or relationship dynamics, while others may center on coping strategies, emotional regulation, self-esteem, or learning how to respond differently to anxiety and overwhelm. My goal is always to help clients leave sessions feeling more understood, more grounded, and more capable of navigating challenges with greater confidence and self-awareness.
