ABOUT DAVID

David is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern from Rider University who is entering the final year of his program.  He is very passionate about creating a space for clients to feel safe and comfortable sharing their experiences, as well as providing each client a personalized approach to their therapy journey that meets their individual needs.  David sees empathy and empowerment as the building blocks of a successful therapeutic relationship, and seeks to employ them in each and every session.  His clinical experience thus far has included working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents who experience a wide variety of mental health diagnoses.

APPROACH TO THERAPY

David is experienced in working with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, family-related issues, anger management, trauma, and many other struggles that someone may experience.  He is also experienced in a variety of evidence-based techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a multitude of mindfulness-based practices/coping strategies.  David also has 2 years of experience in working with survivors of violent crimes as a case manager at a nonprofit organization, and as a result is familiar with the impacts of trauma for an individual and their community.

FUN FACTS

David is an avid hiker and camper who loves to spend his time in nature.  David also loves to read, watch movies, build/fix things, and spend quality time with friends and loved ones.
