Emily Whaland
ABOUT EMILY
Emily is a licensed professional counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, bringing over a decade of experience to her work. She has supported individuals and families in both outpatient and intensive outpatient settings, and has also contributed at the systems level through her work in Medicaid managed care. Emily holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College. Her clinical expertise includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults with Autism, as well as a wide range of other mental health diagnoses.
APPROACH TO THERAPY
Emily takes a strengths-based, systemic approach to therapy, offering individualized support and collaborative treatment planning. Her background includes training and exposure to DIR/Floortime and play therapy, enriching her ability to connect with younger clients in meaningful ways. She is deeply passionate about advocacy, mindfulness, and providing neurodivergent-affirming care. Emily also specializes in helping individuals and families better understand Autism, creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can build resilience and develop effective supports tailored to their needs.
FUN FACTS
Emily is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, having completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Barbara Paulsen at Ananda Yoga and Wellness/Yoga Inspired.
