Classes are limited to 10 participants to ensure comfort, safety, and personalized support.

Grief & Loss: Navigating the Death of a Loved One

A progressive healing workshop series

January 14 - February 11, 2026
Wednesdays, 6:30pm - 8:00pm

A five-week workshop offering compassionate support for those grieving the death of a loved one, with space to understand, honor, and carry grief forward in meaningful ways.

Weekly Topics

Weekly topics are designed to build upon one another while honoring individual readiness and capacity. Participants are invited to engage at their own pace, with sharing always optional in a supportive, welcoming space.

💠Week 1 — January 14
Making Sense of Grief: Exploring the Emotions of Grief

This session focuses on understanding grief after the death of a loved one, including the wide range of emotions that arise such as shock, numbness, anger, guilt, relief, and confusion.

💠Week 2 — January 21
Grief Beyond Sadness: The Many Ways Grief Appears
This session explores the many forms grief can take after death, including how it can resurface unexpectedly through thoughts, physical sensations, memories, and personal triggers such as anniversaries, holidays, or sensory reminders.

💠Week 3 — January 28
Honoring Love After Loss: Continuing Bonds
This session focuses on how love and connection can continue after death, exploring meaningful ways to remember a loved one while allowing space for joy and life to move forward.

💠Week 4 — February 4
Living With Loss: Coping in Daily Life
This session focuses on navigating daily life while grieving, offering practical ways to cope, set boundaries, ask for support, and recognize when additional help may be needed as grief continues day by day.

💠Week 5 — February 11
Carrying Love Forward: Living With What Has Changed
This session explores how meaning and healing can gently take shape after loss, reflecting on identity changes, personal growth, and ways to carry love forward without forcing positivity or “silver linings.”

Meet Your Facilitator

Amanda M. Gonzalez is a Clinical Mental Health student and counselor-in-training with 12+ years in child and family services. She works with children, families, and survivors of domestic violence, integrating holistic, nature-based approaches. Fluent in Spanish, she provides culturally sensitive, compassionate care.
